Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of OpenHour. By creating an account or booking a session, you agree to them.
Last updated: 13 September 2026
The service
OpenHour gives independent professionals a public page where they can publish the sessions they offer and take bookings against hours they choose to open. In these terms, “expert” means someone who publishes a page, “client” means someone who books a session, and “you” means whichever applies to you.
Accounts
- You need a Google account to sign in. You are responsible for keeping access to it secure.
- The information on your page must be accurate. Do not claim credentials, qualifications or endorsements you do not hold.
- One person or organisation per account. Do not impersonate anyone.
- You must be 18 or older.
Plans and payment
- The Free plan lets you publish a page and take bookings.
- Creator and Business are one-time payments that grant 365 days of access from the date of purchase. They do not auto-renew, and nothing is charged to you automatically when the period ends.
- Prices are shown in Indian rupees on the pricing page. OpenHour is run by an individual who is not registered for GST, so no GST is charged or collected and no tax invoice is issued.
- Coupons apply only within their stated validity window, only to the plan they name, and cannot be combined.
- On the Business plan, a platform fee is deducted from paid sessions at the rate shown on the pricing page.
Refunds and cancellations
Because a plan unlocks access immediately, payments are generally non-refundable. If something went wrong — you were charged twice, a payment succeeded but access was not granted, or the service was materially unavailable — email hello@openhour.me within 7 days and we will put it right.
Paid sessions work differently. If a session is cancelled — by you or by the expert — we refund the session price less the 5% platform fee, to the original payment method, usually within 5–7 working days. If deducting that fee would drop the refund below ₹1 — the minimum our payment provider will process — we waive the fee and refund the full amount instead. The one case we cannot handle automatically is a session the expert has already been paid out for; email us at the address above and we will sort it out.
Bookings happen between you and the other party
OpenHour provides the scheduling and payment rails. It is not a party to the session itself. The expert is solely responsible for the advice, service or work they deliver, and for any professional, tax or regulatory obligations attached to it. We do not verify qualifications, guarantee outcomes, or mediate disputes about the substance of a session.
Experts must honour confirmed bookings or cancel with reasonable notice. Clients must show up or cancel with reasonable notice. Repeated failure to do either may cost you access.
Acceptable use
You may not use OpenHour to:
- Break the law, or offer services that are illegal where you or your client are located.
- Publish content that is fraudulent, hateful, harassing, sexually explicit, or infringes someone else's rights.
- Send spam, or use booking or contact details for unsolicited marketing.
- Probe, scrape, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service.
- Misrepresent your identity, credentials or affiliation.
Your content
You keep ownership of everything you publish. You grant us the licence needed to host and display it — that is, to show your page to the people you share it with. You are responsible for having the rights to what you upload, including photographs and any testimonial you attribute to a named person.
Availability
We aim to keep OpenHour running but do not promise uninterrupted service. Features may change, and we may run maintenance that makes the service briefly unavailable. Calendar synchronisation depends on Google, and payments depend on Razorpay; interruptions to those services can affect OpenHour.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using OpenHour and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, puts other users at risk, or is used for fraud. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will warn you first.
Liability
To the extent the law allows, OpenHour is provided as-is, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost business, or loss arising from a session booked through the platform. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. The courts at Hyderabad, Telangana have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top of this page shows the current version, and we will notify you by email of material changes. Continuing to use OpenHour after a change means you accept the updated terms.
